What is pet euthanasia, and how do I know when it’s the right time?

Euthanasia is a medical procedure where your pet is given an overdose of a powerful drug. The medication will make your pet go to sleep and cause their heart to stop beating. The decision to consider euthanasia, and the timing to do so is extremely difficult. At the end of the day, the choice is up to you and your family. We are here to provide you with all of the facts you need to make the best decision for your pet. Our team encourages you to assess your pet’s quality of life and monitor their health by asking yourself a few questions:

  • Is your pet still eating and drinking?
  • Are they able to go to the bathroom regularly?
  • Are they in excessive pain?
  • Do they want to be involved in your activities?

Our team offers compassion and support when you and your pet need it most. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 613-634-2440.
