Veterinary Exam

At Downtown Animal Hospital, we are here for you and your pet. A veterinary exam is important not just for sick pets, but for preventative health as well. We keep an eye out for pets with sore ears, itchy skin, lameness, vomiting, diarrhea, sore eyes, and lethargy as these can be symptoms of underlying medical conditions. If you have any questions before your visit, please don’t hesitate to call us.

What types of pets do you see for veterinary exams?

We provide appointments for all kinds of companion pets and animals (including sick pets, pocket pets and exotics) along with appointments for regular preventive health exams.

Do I have to make an appointment before coming to the hospital?

Ideally, yes. We prefer scheduled consultations, as opposed to walk-ins. We understand life can get hectic, so we are committed to accommodating your busy schedule! We are open for medical consultations Monday through Saturday (including evenings!). And if your pet is unable to come to our animal hospital, we can provide other options.

What happens during a typical veterinary check up or consultation?

Every new or sick pet we examine is usually scheduled for a thirty-minute appointment. After your consultation with our Veterinarians, a Registered Veterinary Technician will come and speak with you to make sure that you fully understand and are comfortable with every aspect of the available treatment options and the plan we believe to be best for your pet.
